I prefer it to the KeyMicro on my Wolfman. I like having a flash hider/muzzle brake should I choose to shoot unsuppressed, and not having to worry about a thread protector is really nice. They add very little length and weight as well. My OSS cans come on and off stupid easy and fast, and are damn near as simple as direct thread. It's not really a traditional QD system, but essentially a self-tightening, very coarse direct thread with a taper in front of the threads. Personally, an extra inch and an extra few ounces have never outweighed the convenience and effectiveness of QD for me. If weight and length are high priorities, direct thread is a good option. A properly designed QD system like Keymo is extremely durable and reliable. You also have to consider the likelihood of failure, and direct thread suppressors are far more likely to walk off or come loose during a course of fire than a properly designed QD system. This whole "more points of failure" is a bad way to look at it. Direct thread is great for a lot of people in a lot of cases. It depends on your priorities and what you want to do. Unless that first baffle caves in or there is excessive lead build up you can’t get out, the suppressor is fine. In the long run it just doesn’t matter and people don’t seem to think it through.Įdit: pitting in suppressors is fine and normal, they are a wear item. So sure, you are paying 80 bucks to delay by a year or two to buy another suppressor meanwhile spending more than a car in ammo. Also it would be almost 30k in ammo and probably another 2-3k in parts for the gun assuming you own your range and don’t pay fees. Also I would assume a majority of this sub doesn’t have MGs (rip the good ole days of this sub when it did tho) so shooting that much through one rifle in let’s say 10 years is pretty hard and expensive. I highly doubt most people on this sub will ever shoot that much in 10 years through all of their guns. Two of them were from the 90s and had a million rounds of 9mm go through em (MG rental range,) one was mounted on a MK46 rental and had 200k rounds through it and the other was an rc2 that lived on a full auto mk18 and it lasted about 90-100k rounds. However I’ve only ever seen three or four cans that had been shot out. I Found a Machine Gun: What Should I Do? - Forgotten Weapons You Too Can Own an NFA Weapon! Here's how. Got more questions?
